Cabaret and Cabernet presented by The Sammons Center for the Arts

Kick off the Spring Sammons Cabaret season with the much-loved Cabaret & Cabernet Fête, a showcase of standout local talent. This bi-annual tradition unites returning favorites along with new voices for an entertaining evening of showstoppers, crowd-pleasers, and unforgettable cabaret moments.

I have the pleasure of serving as pianist and music director with a fabulous rhythm section that includes Jonathan Fisher on bass and Andrew Griffith on drums, as we back up a dozen of Dallas’ finest vocalists. This spring’s program includes Georgia Barge, Corey Breedlove, Xiamara Cooper, Chris Cree, Peter DiCesare, Rob Holbert, Keron Jackson, Carolyn Jones, Joelle Jones, Peggy Lohr, Alan Pollard, and Audra Scott.

Raise a glass, savor the music, and join us as we welcome a new season of cabaret in style.

The Cabaret & Cabernet Fête begins at 7:30 p.m. in Meadows Hall. Check-in begins at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby with a pre-concert reception on the 2nd floor. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or $45 for Sammons members. Admission includes valet parking, light bites, and beverages. All artists and programs are subject to change.

The Satin Dolls Band in Concert

To our fans who live on the north side of Dallas’ sprawl - this concert is for you. Join as at the historic Sherman Jazz Museum. Founded in 2010 by Bill Collins, this one-of-a-kind museum features a mind-blowing collection of original vinyl jazz recordings, trumpets, and local artists’ renderings of the likeness of many jazz legends. Jazz is a living art form whose tradition is best upheld in the form of live music. We are honored to be included on their concert series this season.

Cabaret and Cabernet Fete

Pop the cork and cue the spotlight—it’s time for Cabaret & Cabernet Fête! This sparkling showcase kicks off the fall season with a parade of powerhouse vocalists, each delivering a showstopping number in a whirlwind of musical styles, from jazz and Broadway to pop and playful surprises. Whether you're here for the belt-it-out ballads or toe-tapping charmers, there's a little something for everyone.

This special concert is a tribute to long-time Dallas entertainer and former Sammons Cabaret ambassador, Linda Petty. It also is the first in the inaugural season of the renamed Linda Petty Cabaret Series. I’ll be at the piano in collaboration with the impeccable musicianship of Jonathan Fisher (bass) and Stockton Helbing (drums).

Sip some wine, grab a bite, and settle in for a night where every song is a star.

The Weary Blues Poetry & Jazz Concert with Quraysh Ali Lansana

The Weary Blues is an album by the American poet Langston Hughes, who recites several of his poems accompanied by jazz music composed and arranged by Leonard Feather and Charles Mingus. The album was recorded on March 17&18, 1958, in New York and was released on the MGM label in 1959. It was later reissued on Verve Records.

Live show performed by Quraysh Ali Lansana and Dallas’ own jazz musicians led by Joyce Spencer.
